Activity

In addition to local gourmet and Japanese sweets, Shimabara tea can be enjoyed with Hasami-ware tea utensils.

Specialties of Shimabara Peninsula and Isahaya will be served on board. You can enjoy meals and Japanese sweets, and brew your own Shimabara tea in Hasami-ware tea utensils.

Tea time with an ocean view

The train stops at Omisaki Station, which is said to be the closest station to the sea in Japan. You can enjoy a relaxing tea time while gazing at the beautiful sea.

Shimabara castle town tour by the Shimabara Castle Shichimangoku Warriors

You can participate in a tour of Shimabara Castle by the Shichimangoku Warriors (optional). You will also receive a gift (castle seal) through a stamp rally. Kimono dressing experience is available as an option in Shimabara Castle.

Includes a one-way train ticket from Shimabara Station to Isahaya Station

You can also use the train on your return journey. Even if you stay overnight, you can take the train until the next day.

Includes guidance by a train attendant (Japanese)

Train attendants will accompany you on your journey. They will accompany you along the train ride and introduce you to the meals and sweets that we provide.


Schedule

  • 10:30 AM Meet-up at Isahaya Station, Depart at 11:10 AM

  • Board the sightseeing train

    All seats are reserved.

  • Includes a meal, sweets, and a drink

    Meals, several Japanese sweets, coffee and tea (all-you-can drink) are served on the train. You are also free to help yourself to Shimabara tea served in Hasami-ware tea utensils. (For children, juice is available instead of tea.)

  • Arrive at 12:15 PM. Depart at 1:00 PM. Alight at Omisaki Station.

    The train stops for 45 minutes at Omisaki Station, which is said to be the closest station to the sea in Japan. Visitors can take commemorative photos and write their wishes on yellow handkerchiefs sold in the toy capsule and hang them in the dedicated space.

  • Arrive at Shimabara Station at 1:10 PM

    After alighting at Shimabara Station, you are free to explore on your own. The Shichimangoku Warriors will pick you up at Shimabara Station, and you can then join the Shimabara Castle Tour directly. (Reservations are required). You can use your ticket to enter Shimabara Castle, as well as in shops around the city. You can also use your ticket to return to Isahaya Station.

• Children 0-5 years old may board the train for free.
*Meals are not included for guests aged 0-5 years old.
• Children 0-5 years old who wish to have a course meal should book at the child's rate.
• In general, please refrain from bringing food and beverages onto the train.
• If you are late for the meeting without prior notice, your reservation will be cancelled.
• Wheelchair users can also participate. However, please be sure to inform us at the time of booking, as the number of wheelchair-friendly seats available is limited.
• In general, seats are allocated to each group, but if there are many participants, there may be cases of sharing seats.
• Box seats for four are available with tables.
• Due to the limited space on the train, there is not enough room for luggage storage. Please refrain from bringing large luggage that cannot be placed under your seats.
Luggage can be left at the counter at Isahaya Station or Shimabara Station.
• Seats will be assigned by us and you will not be able to choose your seat.
• There are no smoking areas in the train or at the station. If you wish to smoke before boarding, please use the smoking area at Isahaya Station.
• All trains are equipped with men's and women's restrooms. In addition, men's and women's Western-style restrooms are available at Omisaki Station, where the train stops along the way.
• Please refrain from bringing in pets.
• Alcoholic beverages cannot be served to minors or those who drive.
• Alcoholic beverages must be purchased and paid for on site on the day of the tour.
•The special one-way rail ticket from Shimabara Station to Isahaya Station is not valid for stopovers.

•If you wish to take a tour of Shimabara Castle by the Shichimangoku Warriors, please make a reservation at the time of booking.
The tour will be conducted in Japanese. Japanese persons can also participate in this tour.
