Enshrining Sarutahiko Okami, the Deity of Guidance, and his descendants, who guided the descent of the Heavenly Grandson. The main shrine, the grand torii gate, and all other structures are octagonal, embodying the divine virtue of warding off misfortune in all directions.

The subsidiary shrine of the Inner Shrine, dedicated to Tsukiyomi-no-mikoto, the younger brother of Amaterasu Omikami. It also enshrines Izanagi-no-mikoto and Izanami-no-mikoto, who are the parental gods of Tsukiyomi-no-mikoto.
