Enjoy a winery tour and tasting at the historic L'Orient Shirayuri Winery

Katsunuma Town in Yamanashi Prefecture is renowned as one of Japan's premier wine regions. L'Orient Shirayuri Winery stands out among the many award-winning wineries, having received numerous accolades at domestic and international wine competitions. Visitors can enjoy tours of the magnificent vineyards and winery, learning everything about wine, from grape varieties to the production process. Finally, savor L'Orient wines, crafted with over 50 years of traditional expertise.

A visit to Daizenji Temple, also known as Budo-dera (Grape Temple), and a Zazen meditation experience

Daizenji Temple, also known as the Budo-dera (Grape Temple), boasts the oldest wooden structure in Yamanashi Prefecture, with its Yakushido Hall designated as a National Treasure. The unique Yakushi Nyorai (Medicine Buddha) statue, holding a grape, is said to be the only one of its kind in Japan and is revealed to the public as a sacred treasure once every five years. Daizenji Temple also offers zazen meditation experiences, allowing visitors to calm their minds and unify their spirits.

Enjoy Yamanashi's specialty Hoto (noodle soup) for lunch

Hoto is a local dish made by boiling flat noodles made from kneaded wheat flour in a miso-based soup with various ingredients such as pumpkin, potatoes, mushrooms, seasonal vegetables, and meat. Enjoy this unique local dish that can only be found in Yamanashi.


Schedule

  • 10:05 AM: Meet at the South Exit of Enzan Station

    Please present your My Page reservation screen at the reception desk. (Treasure Tourism staff will be waiting for you with a sign)

  • 10:30 AM: Arrive at Daizenji Temple

    You will tour the temple grounds and participate in a Zazen meditation experience.

  • 11:50 AM: Lunch at Keisenan

    You will enjoy Yamanashi's specialty, Hoto.

  • 1:00 PM: L'Orient Shirayuri Winery tour

    The owner will provide a detailed explanation of the vineyards and the brewing process. After that, enjoy the tasting.

  • 3:00 PM: Disband at Enzan Station

If you will be sitting in a kneeled position during the Zazen meditation, please wear pants. *If you prefer to sit in a chair, skirts are acceptable as well.
