JR EAST PASS 　5-day

【Precautions & Eligibility】

Eligibility: Available only for non-Japanese passport holders (Japanese nationals, including those living overseas, are not eligible).

Validity: Valid for 5 consecutive days from the starting date.

Age Categories: Adult/Child status is determined by the age at the time of purchase. Please verify age with a passport or official document.

Infants (Under 6): Free of charge, but a Child Pass is required if they need their own reserved seat on Shinkansen or Limited Express trains.

Voucher Expiry: The e-Voucher is valid for 3 months from the date of issuance. Upon exchange in Japan, the starting date must be specified within 1 month of the exchange date.

Name Matching: The name on the booking must exactly match the name on your passport.

Required Documents: You must present the e-Voucher and your original passport (copies are not accepted) at the exchange counter.

Multiple Issuance: Multiple passes of the same type with overlapping validity periods cannot be issued.

Loss/Reissue: No reissuance for lost or stolen passes. Please keep it safe.

Refunds: Once used, no refunds or extensions will be granted due to train cancellations, delays, or any other reason.

【Valid Area】
All JR East Lines (Kanto, Tohoku, and Nagano/Niigata areas)
Covers the combined areas of the former Tohoku Area Pass and Nagano/Niigata Area Pass.

【Covered Lines】

Shinkansen: Tohoku, Akita, Yamagata, Joetsu, and Hokuriku Shinkansen (Tokyo to Joetsu-Myoko). Note: The section between Joetsu-Myoko and Tsuruga is NOT covered.

Trains: All JR East lines (Limited Express, Rapid, and Local), Izu Kyuko, Tokyo Monorail, Hokuetsu Express, Sendai Airport Transit, Aoimori Railway, and IGR Iwate Galaxy Railway.

Shared Lines: Specified limited express trains shared with Tobu Railway (e.g., Nikko, Kinugawa, SPACIA Kinugawa), specified sections of Tobu Railway, and Echigo TOKImeki Railway (Naoetsu to Arai).

Important Notes

Separate tickets are required for Gran Class, Green Cars, and sleeper trains (Pass covers only the basic fare).

Local JR Buses (JR Bus Kanto/Tohoku) are included, excluding highway buses.

The Tokaido Shinkansen (Tokyo to Nagoya/Osaka) is NOT covered.

【Reserved Seats】

During the 5-day validity period, you can make unlimited seat reservations for Shinkansen and Limited Express trains.

Reserved seat tickets can be issued at JR East "Reserved Seat Ticket Vending Machines (with QR code readers)," JR EAST Travel Service Centers, or Ticket Offices (Midori-no-Madoguchi).

If you no longer need a reserved seat, please return the ticket to a counter before the train departs.

【How to Exchange】

After booking, an e-Voucher with a QR code will be sent to your email.

On the day of use, go to a "JR EAST Travel Service Center" or a "Reserved Seat Ticket Vending Machine (with passport reader)" at designated stations, scan your passport and QR code to receive your physical pass.
