Activity
One of the twelve original castle keeps!
This castle keep was constructed prior to the Edo period and is still well-preserved, Maruoka Castle has been recognized as one of the 100 fine castles in Japan. It stands as a precious example of a castle keep, and it is the sole remaining in the Hokuriku region.
Designated as Important Cultural Property
There are 12 existing castle keeps in Japan. They are designated as national important cultural properties and have been carefully preserved.

There are many highlights around the castle, such as the ruins of the Maruoka Domain Battery
and the bulletin board for the winning entries of the Ippitsu Keijou ("A Brief Message from the Heart" Letter Contest) Prize!

- Smoking is completely prohibited inside Maruoka Castle and Kasumigajo Castle Park.
- As a rule, flying small unmanned aircraft (drones) and filming with small unmanned aircraft (drones) is prohibited around Maruoka Castle, a National Important Cultural Property, as well as Kasumigajo Park and connected facilities.
