Hakkoda Kokusai Ski Area is the only ski resort in the Hakkoda Mountains with groomed runs. Open from late November to Golden Week in May, the resort's snow activities can be enjoyed for 5 months of the year. Just 40 minutes from the city center and under an hour away from Aomori Airport, it is easy to enjoy snow hiking and pristine powder snow here in midwinter.
