Tenjin Pass and Mt. Takakura. Tenjindaira, located between these two peaks, is a relatively flat and gentle slope, as the “-daira” (“flat”) in its Japanese name suggests. Magnificent mountains, many as tall as 2000 meters, surround the slope. The twin peaks of Mt. Tanigawa stand out even amongst this landscape, with its snow-covered, almost mystical beauty. Skiers can enjoy the beauty of this stunning backdrop as they go about their day. Though the Tanigawa Mountain Range is characterized by its jagged landscapes and heavy snow, the snow here is exquisite powder snow.
