Shiga Kogen Yakebitaiyama Ski Area

Resort information
The forested trails at Yakebitaiyama Ski Area are designed to take advantage of the natural terrain, offering stunning panoramic views of the distant Northern Alps from the 2,000-meter-high summit. Last year, the newly opened Yakebi Coast debuted as an off-piste trail with a maximum slope of 31 degrees and a total length of 893 meters, allowing skiers to fully enjoy the floating sensation unique to dry powder snow. The resort also offers 19 other trails, providing a wide variety of terrain for beginners through advanced skiers. Among them, the Olympic Trail, which has hosted international competitions, is especially popular with advanced skiers. On Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays, the First Tracks program lets skiers enjoy the slopes first thing in the morning, providing a perfect opportunity to experience freshly groomed runs or high-quality powder snow on snowy days. This season sees the continuation of the e-Snow Bike, allowing riders to explore forested trails on electric snow bikes for a unique experience different from skiing or snowboarding.
