The microfine powder snow in this region is practically synonymous with Nekoma. The area around the peak of the mountain is blanketed in silver frost - the coldest scenery known to man.

Nekoma’s bountiful natural landscape brings it some of the best snow in all of the Aizu area, putting it on par with ski resorts in Hokkaido. Come experience the fantastic snow here for yourself!

Straight up to the peak on the Flying Cat Triple!

View from Nekoma Snow Park & Resort
This express triple chair lift gives skiers a direct line straight from the foot of the mountain to the peak. Since it gets riders up to the peak so quickly, this means that you’ll get even more ski runs in.

The view from the peak is, in a word, spectacular! Down below, you’ll see Lake Hibara, completely frozen over during peak season, and to your right is the magnificent Mt. Bandai.

The branching courses spreading out down the mountain are suited to intermediate and advanced level skiers.

Enjoy the best powder snow all to yourself in the early morning

The slopes first thing in the morning
Nekoma offers early birds looking to enjoy absolutely divine, untouched powder snow the chance to do so with their “Asa-Nekoma” (“Morning Nekoma”) Service.

This service gives skiers the chance to get on the ski lift 30 minutes before the park officially opens for the day. Skiers will get the chance to enjoy freshly fallen powder snow as they zip down the mountain.

Asa-Nekoma services are offered on Saturdays, Sundays, and national holidays between late January and mid-March, 2018, so for those looking to have a bit of a special experience when skiing, this is the time to come visit Nekoma!

Nekoma Park: Where the pros come to practice

Nekoma Park
One of the most famous aspects of Nekoma is its snowboard park which offers plentiful amounts of snow.

The park, frequented by Olympians and other pro boarders, has all sorts of different places to practice for all different skill levels.

Throngs of snowboard virtuosos flock here from all over the country to hone their skills. The park has been host to international competitions on a number of occasions and as such has taken the utmost safety precautions.

With specially-designed jump platforms that, while big, make it difficult to get hurt, and allow boarders to get the most gnarly air there ever was. We also recommend the park to freestyle beginners looking to try their hand!

Haru-Nekoma: Enjoy spring skiing and sakura cherry blossoms together

Ski slopes in the spring
Since Nekoma boasts so much snowfall, the park remains open into early May. Who would’ve thought that you could both experience the beauty of the cherry blossoms alongside a day of powder snow skiing together on the same day? Well, you can, if you visit in early April.

While this kind of experience is limited to a specific time of year, when it comes to staff recommendations, they say this is the best time of year to come.
